Week Beginning 23rd April

Practicing our letter formation in Phonics
Literacy this week involved continuing our theme of 'space' by learning about the planets. We read a range of stories and learned how we can find information from non-fiction books. We then made simple posters about the planet of our choice.

In Numeracy this week, we have been learning about shapes. We played various activities to help us begin to recognise 3-D shapes, with particular emphasis on the 'sphere' shape. We made moons with papier-mache and also learned about the moon phases.

In topic this week, we started our main theme of 'Nursery Rhymes' by singing a range of rhymes, some familiar and some unknown, with the children. We then decorated our topic cover for our books. We have also been busy practicing for our assembly.
